Massive Collapse — Modern Mammoth LLC
Last Updated: April 3, 2026
1.Introduction
Modern Mammoth LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website for Massive Collapse (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit the Site, sign in with Discord, participate in community or playtest programs, or contact us. For rules governing alpha playtesting, see our Terms and Conditions.
By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2.Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:
- •Technical & usage data. When you access the Site, our hosting and security layers may process network data such as IP address and request metadata. We use this information for hosting delivery, abuse prevention, and rate limiting (for example, to reduce automated scraping). Where you are signed in, we may key certain limits to your account identifier instead of only your network address.
- •Discord account data (when you sign in). If you authenticate with Discord, we receive data from Discord according to the permissions you approve. Our integration requests access consistent with Discord's OAuth scopes for identify, email (if shown by Discord), guild membership overview, and member information for our community server. That may include your Discord user ID, username, global display name, avatar, email address if provided by Discord to us, whether you are a member of our Discord server, your server nickname, and role IDs used to authorize Site features (such as admin tools).
- •Playtest request information. If you submit a playtest request while signed in, you may provide a Steam ID. We use that information to operate the request flow (including validation) and, when applicable, to interact with Discord on your behalf (for example, assigning a server role). The current Site implementation does not store playtest request submissions in our own database; related processing occurs through your session, Discord, and our application servers as needed to complete the action.
- •Content you see on the Site. We host public materials such as news articles, patch notes, and media galleries. Those may include text and images uploaded by authorized team members and stored in our content systems and file storage.
- •Communications you send us. If you email us (for example at our support address), we receive your message content and associated email metadata.
3.How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- •Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and related features
- •Authenticate users, enforce permissions, and administer community-linked features
- •Process playtest-related actions and Discord role changes where applicable
- •Protect the security and integrity of the Site, including fraud prevention and rate limiting
- •Measure Site usage through analytics when you have opted in through our cookie controls
- •Respond to inquiries and communicate with you regarding support requests
- •Comply with law and enforce our Terms and Conditions
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.
5.Analytics
When you opt in to analytics cookies through our consent experience, we load Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and performance (such as page views and Web Vitals). Vercel describes its analytics product as privacy-focused; we only enable it after analytics consent. For details, refer to Vercel's documentation and policies.
6.Discord Sign-In
Sign-in is handled through Discord's OAuth service. Discord processes information under its own privacy policy. We only receive the data necessary to operate the features you use on the Site and in our linked community programs. You can review and revoke application access from your Discord account settings.
7.Playtest Requests & Discord
If you are eligible and use the playtest request flow, we may call Discord's APIs (with our bot or server configuration) to assign roles or perform related actions. Discord retains information under its policies. Your use of Discord is also subject to Discord's terms.
8.Service Providers & Hosting
We rely on service providers to operate the Site, including for example:
- •Hosting, analytics, and related infrastructure on Vercel
- •Database hosting for Site content (such as news and patch notes) on MongoDB Atlas or compatible services
- •Image and file delivery through Vercel Blob (or similar object storage integrated with our app)
- •Discord for authentication and community integration
- •Optional real-time messaging (for example Pusher) to refresh public content in the browser when enabled in our environment
These providers may process limited personal data on our behalf under contractual and technical safeguards. Embedded third-party content (such as videos) may load resources from those providers; their terms apply when you interact with them.
9.Retention & Security
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including to provide the Site, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Session data persists according to your sign-in state and our authentication configuration. Server and provider logs may be retained for a limited period consistent with security and operations.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10.Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights that apply to you, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your request.
You can control analytics through our cookie settings. You can disconnect Discord sign-in via Discord and by signing out on the Site.
11.Children & International Transfers
The Site is not intended for children under the age required in your region to consent to data collection (often 13 in the United States, or higher in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
We are based in the United States and may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection rules than your own.
12.Changes & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example, through the Site or our community channels).
